Genocide Car Club 1st Annual GSide Party at the Pink Motel
Saturday afternoon I headed out to the valley, to Sun Valley, California to be exact to checkout the Genocide Car Club Car Show at the Pink Motel. Now the Pink Motel is an icon of mid-century goodness that gets used in commercials, movies and TV shows. To say I was excited to have that as a backdrop of the photos would be an understatement. It was a blast.
Aces Hot Rod Resurrection 2021
One of my favorite shows was Saturday! Saturday morning after checking out Donut Derelicts I headed over to Old World Village in Huntington Beach, CA for the annual Aces Hot Rod Resurrection. It's such a cool venue to have a car show and I do so love traditional hot rods and customs.
Early Risers: Donut Derelicts 5-22-21
It's always a good Saturday when I start it off in Huntington Beach, CA at Donut Derelicts. As usually it was packed with all kinds of fantastic cars and trucks and people and wonderful weather.
Muscles & Mojo at the Murphy Auto Museum 5-16-21
On Sunday I headed up to Oxnard for Muscles & Mojo at the Murphy Auto Museum. The turnout was good but the weather definitely kept people from bringing out their hot rods. It was still a decent turnout with some cool cars and it's always fun to walk thru the museum. Muscles & Mojo is the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at the Murphy Auto Museum.
Customs Cruise on York Blvd.
Another unbelievable Customs Cruise! This is the second event they have had so far and it was epic. So many awesome customs and traditional hot rods along with some very cool classics and other vehicular contraptions as well. A ton of photographer friends and car friends as well.
Automobile Driving Museum’s Grand Re-Opening-Pinup Contest-Bands-Friends
On Saturday I headed over to the Automobile Driving Museum for their Grand Re-Opening and all the festivities that went along with it. Now I have already shown you all the wonderful automobiles that came out to support the museum and their Grand Re-Opening but car shows aren't just about the cars. They are about the people, both owners and enthusiasts.
Automobile Driving Museum's Grand Re-Opening-The Cars
Saturday I headed over to the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA for their Grand Re-Opening. I got there early and caught the cars and a giant Bug rollin' in. The ADM has always been one of my favorite museums and they put on a wonderful show with cool cars, bands and a pinup contest(see tomorrow's post about that).
Frisco's Carhop Whittier Grand Opening & Cruise-In
Friday night I headed over to the new Frisco's Carhop that just opened in Whittier. I remember when there were 2 others. One was in Downey, CA and the other in City of Industry, CA. Both had car events at them regularly and I also remember when they closed. Well a new one has now opened in Whittier right on Whittier Blvd.
Iconix Car Club at Roxanne's Bar
To end my day of car show goodness after Donut Derelicts and hangin' with the Varrio Vamps Car Club I headed over to Roxanne's Bar in Long Beach for the Iconix Car Club get together. Typically when Roxanne's would have an event in the past they would stuff their small parking lot with as many cars as could fit and the rest would spill onto the surrounding area.
Varrio Vamps Car Club at Chihuahua Cerveza
Somehow I ended up 2 weekends in a row at Chihuahua Cerveza in Newport Beach and it was worth it. This time after hangin' in Huntington Beach for Donut Derelicts in the morning I headed down to Newport Beach for the Varrio Vamps Car Club get-together.
Early Risers: Donut Derelicts 4-10-21
Whenever I'm going down to the Huntington Beach area on a Saturday I always get up a little early and head down to the world-famous Donut Derelicts. This past Saturday's show was packed full of all kinds of automotive goodness.
Easter Edition of Muscles & Mojo at The Murphy Auto Museum
Sunday I started my Easter off early with a drive up to Oxnard, CA to the Murphy Auto Museum for their bi-monthly (1st & 3rd Sunday of every month) Muscles & Mojo show.
Bellflower Blvd Cruise 4-3-21
My 4th stop on Saturday was the Bellflower Blvd Cruise. In the past, there has always been a Bellflower Blvd Car Show but with everything going on it has been canceled and the Bellflower Blvd Cruises have been going on.
Rusty's B-Day Bash - The Rattys Family
My 3rd Stop on Saturday was at the Chihuahua Cerveza Taproom in Newport Beach to hang with The Rattys for the king rat's birthday, my friend Rusty. The Rattys are just one big family of Lincoln Continental loving nuts and I'm so thankful to be included in that family.
Cambra Speed Shop Monthly Open House
Saturday after checking out Donut Derelicts I headed over to Orange, CA to Cambra Speed Shop for their monthly Open House. I was just there for a short time as I had more events to checkout that day but it was a good turnout of cool hot rods.
Early Risers: Donut Derelicts 4-3-21
So I'm not as crazy as some of the people that show up at like 5am for Donut Derelicts (more like 6:30) but I do try to get there a little early. As always the parking lot was packed with very cool cars and friends.
Womens' Car Show at the ADM
I do so love going to events at the Automobile Driving Museum and this one is always a great time. The Womens' Car Show was started by my friend Pati before it was taken over by the museum just a few years ago. Saturday's show was a whole lot of fun in El Segundo with so many wonderful cars and people.
Caffeine and Classics at The Container Yard
For whatever reason, I have always missed the Caffeine and Classics events and it now makes me a little sad. If this one is any indication of events of the past man they put on an awesome event.
The First Customs Cruise
The first Customs Cruise was a blast. Hangin' in Van Nuys with friends and some very cool traditional hot rods and customs.
